Lee and I had our kids relatively young, and soon they will both be 18, and should be wanting to leave home! Err.. right?

About June 2009, we started to wonder what it would like to live life as a cruising sailor, and travel around the world, instead of going to work. Move off the grid for a while.

Early on, we found a couple of great websites about people who started a lifestyle of sailing and cruising, which really inspired us to look further into the idea.

So we started buying sailing magazines, reading sailing forums, looking for sailing DVDs and "window shopping" for sail boats. One big thing we have found, is that sail boats from the other side of the world are a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a similar one in Australia.

For a lot of us, life tends to be a struggle between time and money, therefore you aim to work at achieving both. I read a quote yesterday in a sailing magazine, that people also like to achieve both adventure and a sense of security, however, you usually have to give up one to achieve the other.

Do we need to give up financial security to have the adventure of a lifetime? Follow us, as we take you on our journey in search for our boat, and preparation for our adventure of our lifetime.
